Breakfast Rolls

Breakfast Roll

It's been a while since I posted about bread. It's not that I've stopped baking, but mostly I've been doing repeats of stuff that's already appeared here. This, then, is a roll recipe I found over on Anne's Food. I played around with it a bit, replacing 150 g of the plain flour with whole grain and increasing the size of the rolls themselves so I got 16 instead of 24, but really it's the same recipe. And like Anne said, I should think it's pretty much foolproof.

  3. These rolls really look perfect! And they look very crispy although I would have guessed that the butter should make for softer rolls. Please tell me: soft and fluffy or crisp and crunchy?

  4. Anne, thank you for the recipe!

    Orchidea, thanks!

Eva: they weren't crisp (I've been thinking I might want to mist the oven or something next time for a different crust) but the dough is fairly dense, denser than your (or at least my) average bread dough, so not really fluffy either. For example, it was quite easy to cut them into bread cubes for the caesar salad in the psot above this one.

  5. Sounds interesting - and I'm still looking for a really good bread rolls recipe (in my opinion much harder to make than your average bread). Hopefully, I can give it a go next weekend!
